Mashreq Bank announced, through its Linkedin account, a bank job in uae (Senior Manager, Special Assets (Remote Working)) according to the following:

  • Support the Head- Special Assets in aggressively managing and recovering the bank’s identified problem assets of wholesale segment of the bank and to identify, on a pro-active basis, credits that are most vulnerable to the economic and industry cycles.
  •  This role also provides crucial support, via credit analysis, portfolio management, regulatory compliance and MIS reporting duties, for the efficient and effective management of the Special Assets portfolio.
  • Responsible for Recoveries / Restructuring / Settlement Plan/ Develop strategies including secondary sales, strengthening collateral etc for NPL and distressed / restructured accounts which are relationship managed
  • Accurate financial analysis and credit proposal preparation on large exposure restructuring corporate cases.
  • Ensuring that CPs are properly presented and include all relevant information, and credit controls in line with the bank’s credit policy and local regulatory directives.
  • Review, check and assign where applicable the appropriate risk rating to each large exposure credit processed and initiate the change in the rating as the case may be to reflect the true and fair condition of the customer
  • Timely identification, recognition and mitigation of credit and operational risks. 
  • The candidate must have at least 8-10 years of mainstream banking work experience, such as origination / control of lending function whether on the relationship or approval side, and / or special assets.
  • The candidate must hold a relevant graduate degree, preferably with a professional degree such as MBA / CA/ CFA/ CWA.. 
  • Positive Attitude is a must.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of having handled remedial / distressed cases in the past; and relevant industry experience in Credit Risk Management. 
  • Flawless writing and presentation skills, top notch analytical skills.
  • Demonstrable ability to manage stakeholders at all levels, within and outside the organization, including regulators.
  • Sharp business acumen (including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and multi-cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Understanding of best practice risk management techniques and frameworks.
  • Exemplary integrity, ethics, independence and resilience.
